We believe the best thing you can give a kid isn’t comfort — it’s a real challenge, in a real place, with real stakes. The Kids Adventure Race exists to inspire a more active, more confident generation through genuine outdoor adventure.
What we do
Real adventure, built for kids
Teams of two, ages 6–14, take on a course that mixes trekking, mountain biking, and up to 15 hands-on obstacles — built into the terrain of four unforgettable venues across the West. Every team crosses the finish line together, and every event is capped at 180 teams so the day stays personal.

Built by adventure racers
The Kids Adventure Race grew out of a family that has spent its life in the outdoors — founders Billy & Hélène Mattison and the team behind Grand Traverse Adventures, with roots in expedition racing and mountain sport. We build the race we’d want our own kids to run: challenging, safe, and unforgettable.
